Orpheus wasn't entirely sure the ring would work as a way for him to get to Steve's world, but he was going to give it a shot. If it didn't work, he'd explain it to Steve the next time they were both in the bar, and they could figure something else out.

His guitar slung across his back, Orpheus turns the ring on his finger and opens the door, pleased to find himself in Steve's apartment when he steps through.

Orpheus trails his fingers down Steve's back slowly. "Was it what you needed?"

"Yes, sweetheart." He kisses Orpheus's lips lightly. "Thank you."

"You're welcome," Orpheus murmurs, kissing him back.

Steve nuzzles their noses together. "Been a busy day."

"Yeah, it has," Orpheus murmurs in return, smiling.

"Not sure I can stay awake," Steve says apologetically. "You'll stay the night, won't you? And tomorrow?"

"Yeah, of course," Orpheus says, stroking his back. "As long as you like. I'll have to go back for my things eventually, though."

"Stay forever," Steve murmurs.

[golden_lyre]

He laughs softly. "I'll need to go shopping again..."

Steve chuckles and kisses his neck. "I mean that in a 'Come, live with me and be my love' kind of way. You can go shopping and go out to eat and play music and whatever else, and I won't complain."

[golden_lyre]

"I didn't think you wanted to keep me prisoner. I only meant if I don't go back to my world, I'll need clothes and things."

"Oh, good. I was worried for a second, there." He kisses Orpheus's ear. "You looked amazing in your new clothes, by the way."

Orpheus chuckles. "Maybe someday I'll get to wear them out."

"Someday," Steve promises, smiling.

[golden_lyre]

"I didn't mind," Orpheus assures him.

"I know, honey." He strokes Orpheus's chest. "Thank you for being patient with me."

[golden_lyre]

He laughs and kisses Steve's hair. "It hardly required patience."

"Still. The day didn't quite go the way we planned."

[golden_lyre]

"There will be plenty of time for you to show me your city, lovely."

Steve starts to speak, then just nods against his neck. "Plenty of time."

Orpheus pulls back slightly to look at him. "What?"

Steve says slowly "We've always had to go back to our worlds before. It's going to take some getting used to, knowing you'll always be here." He strokes Orpheus's chest. "And I can't promise I won't always worry about you, because I will."

[golden_lyre]

"I know that. I accept that about you," Orpheus says with a faint smile. "Is...it going to be a problem? Me always being here?"

"No. Not a problem." He strokes Orpheus's cheek lazily. "Just a change."

"It will be a change for me as well. Living with someone else."
