Name: Orpheus
Door: Right

Canon: OC
Canon Point: n/a

Age: 3000+ (appears 25-ish)
Appearance: Link

History: tl;dr history & personality
Personality:

Proud: This is one of Orpheus' defining traits. He's the Father of Song. The best musician to have ever lived. He's incredibly, incredibly good, and he very much knows it. He's proud of his music and of his family…well, the ones who have never been dicks to him. It's hard to be proud of the entire Greek pantheon. And he'll happily fight anyone who insults Apollo or his mother.
Devout: related to the above, Orpheus is devoted to the things he's devoted to. Apollo, Eurydice, the entire concept of polytheism. If he makes a promise, he keeps it, absolutely. e.g. promising never to love a woman after his wife died and spending the next 3000 years only fucking men. He won't make a promise if he doesn't know he'll be able to keep it. Very, very slowly he's realizing this doesn't have to be the case.
Stubborn: Again, related to the above, he has a really hard time backing down from something. Whether it's a promise or an argument. He feels like he's old enough to know better than basically everybody else. This is something else he's very slowly changing on.
Empathetic: He literally has empathy, in that he can feel other people's emotions when they're strong enough, but he also has a hard time ignoring people who are in pain. He tells himself that he's walled himself off from the mortal world because it's so fleeting it hardly matters, but as soon as he gets to know someone, he wants to relieve their pain.

Powers and Abilities: Orpheus' powers are related either to his music, his mother, or his relationship to Apollo.

On the music side:
he can use his music to move inanimate objects. Really big ones if he's really trying. (Rivers and trees and that kind of thing.) It's a little easier for him to move objects made of natural materials than synthetics.

his music can affect people's emotions. He can pull out any emotion they are capable of feeling. He cannot make them feel something that they have absolutely no inclination toward.

related to the above: he's a bit of an empath. He doesn't do it on purpose often, but he can read people's emotions. Usually he just translate this into playing whatever sort of music it is they need to hear just then.

it takes him about 5 minutes with a new instrument to play it like a master. (Though he always prefers his guitar.)

On his mother's side:
he's really, really good with languages. After hearing it spoken for a short while, he can speak it himself, flawlessly, though there is always a very faint, vaguely Mediterranean accent when he speaks.

On Apollo's side:
as a sort of extension of his musical powers, he can heal minor injuries, wounds, and sicknesses with his music.

he has accelerated healing. He also cannot be killed. This is actually a result of having been brought back to life by Zeus, but he just...can't. There have been many attempts.

he has a small but incredibly accurate gift of prophecy. He can't see his own future, but he occasionally gets glimpses of others, and he can tell fortunes if asked. Accurately. Whether they want it or not. He won't lie.

his guitar (originally a lyre he was given by Apollo) can take the form of whatever musical instrument he needs. It's almost always a guitar, but occasionally it's something easier to carry around. It always looks like it's probably made out of gold.

Inventory: A small notebook and pencil. His guitar.
