[Milliways]: Breaking the dry spell

Orpheus is trying very hard not to just drag Steve up the stairs to their room. Despite having been waiting in the bar, he hasn't been spending much time here at all. It made him think far too much of Steve, and the drawings Steve had left for him didn't really help on that score.

He manages to restrain himself, though, as he unlocks the door.

"Good. Timing it will be interesting, but I'm sure we can get a lot of supplies here and the rest in my world..." He yawns. "And I'm fine with renting a car of riding on a motorcycle sounds like too much."

"No, we should do the motorcycle. We can always rent a car later if we need to."

"A truck," Steve murmurs. "To carry the motorcycle."

"I was going to suggest storing the motorcycle somewhere, but that works too..."

"We could even tag-team."

"We could cover more ground that way, probably," Orpheus agrees.

"Make more stops that way, too," Steve says, grinning. "See more sights."

"Mmhm," Orpheus agrees, kissing his forehead. "We could see all of America."

Steve laughs. "We should save a few things for the next trip."

"There are other countries," Orpheus points out.

"True. But since I'm likely going to be around for a long time and I know you are, there's plenty of time to see it all."

"Yes, there is," Orpheus says fondly. "In your world and mine."

Steve kisses Orpheus's lips and smiles at him.

Orpheus returns the kiss. "Go to sleep, lovely," he murmurs. "We can make plans in the morning."

"Good night, my love," Steve whispers and lays his head on Orpheus's shoulder.

He's asleep almost at once.

Orpheus smiles at the epithet and kisses Steve's forehead. "Goodnight," he murmurs in return, humming softly to himself until he drifts off as well.

I have to admit, I have all sorts of thoughts about this road trip...]

[ooc: Ooo, share? Because the only thing I really have in mind is the stop at the Grand Canyon.]

[ooc: Well, I have this headcanon for Orpheus that whenever he travels through rural areas, people from displaces cultures, especially older people who still hold onto older/magical ways, tend to ask him for blessings or to attend events and such. So I was thinking that they'd get invited to a Quinceañera, and maybe to bless a new home on the Navajo reservation. Things like that.]

[ooc: I like. And Steve will gaze at him proudly and play with the kids.]

On his own world, at least, some of the Native American cultures actually have legends about him from the brief time he lived with them.]

[ooc: Oo. That would be cool for Steve to hear sometime.]

[ooc: They should do another trip in his world sometime. He doesn't actually know about the stories.]

[ooc: *nodnod* They should. Plenty of time to fill until CA2...]
