Orpheus wasn't entirely sure the ring would work as a way for him to get to Steve's world, but he was going to give it a shot. If it didn't work, he'd explain it to Steve the next time they were both in the bar, and they could figure something else out.

His guitar slung across his back, Orpheus turns the ring on his finger and opens the door, pleased to find himself in Steve's apartment when he steps through.

"All up to me, hm?" Orpheus says with a laugh, flipping through the menu.

"You've never steered me wrong."

"I'll try to live up to that," he says, and heads to the hostess to place their order.

Steve watches him go, his chin on his hands.

Orpheus comes back with a smile and takes a seat to wait. "I hope I ordered enough," he teases.

"What did you order? Or is it a surprise?" He puts his hand on Orpheus's knee.

[golden_lyre]

He chuckles, leaning against Steve a little. "Would you like it to be a surprise?"

"Yes," Steve says softly. "Surprise me."

He strokes Orpheus's knee slowly. "I want you to do more than that tonight."

[golden_lyre]

Smiling, Orpheus watches his hand. "Oh?"

"Yes." He traces circles on Orpheus's knee. "I think we both need a little... something extra. I need to give up a little control and I want you to take it." He looks at Orpheus, swallows hard, and then looks away.

[golden_lyre]

Orpheus smiles softly and takes Steve's hand, lacing their fingers together.

"I can do that. We can do that."

"Good," Steve murmurs, holding his hand a little tighter, "good."

[golden_lyre]

"Do you want to stop somewhere on the way to pick up supplies?" Orpheus asks. "Or do you want me to?"

"I wouldn't know where to go."

[golden_lyre]

"I'm sure I could find something. Did you ever get a cell phone?"

Steve takes one from his pocket and gives it to Orpheus. "Tony got me one." It is, of course, basically a small computer. "Mostly I use it to take pictures."

Orpheus is still not great with this kind of technology, but after fiddling for a while, he does find the browser function and searches for a shop in the area that would have what they need.

"There you go."

Steve nods, blushing. "Okay. We'll go there next."

Just in time, a server approaches with a paper bag containing their meal.

"Only if you're sure," Orpheus says with a smile as he gets up to take the bag.



[ooc: Now I want to write a fic where Steve uses JARVIS to find a sex shop and Tony finds out.]

"I'm sure."

Orpheus thanks the server and takes Steve's hand to lead him out of the restaurant.

Steve's hand is pliant in Orpheus's.

He has no idea what subspace is, but he's well on his way there.

Orpheus smiles over at him and keeps him close as they make their way to the store.

"Do you want to wait outside?" he asks when they arrive. He isn't sure how well-known his face is.

Steve nods. "I'll hold the food." He reaches for the bag.

Orpheus hands him the bag and gives him a quick kiss before heading inside.
