[Milliways]: An American in Paris

Orpheus' flat in Paris is above a little boulangerie in the Latin Quarter, not too terribly far from Notre Dame. It's...very small, and that isn't helped by the musical instruments and half-finished, scribbled sheet music that are littered around the place. Everything is clean, just cluttered. It's a bit stuffy as well, though Orpheus has all his windows open.

As they step into the living room, Orpheus turns to Steve with a smile. "Bienvenue à Paris," he says.

"Yes, sir," Orpheus says, giving him a sloppy salute and leading him back out past the pyramid again.

"That salute is a disgrace, soldier," Steve says, smiling.

"That's not how we saluted in my army," Orpheus offers.

"How did they salute in your army?"

[golden_lyre]

Orpheus crosses one arm across his chest, hand in a fist.

"Hm. Not bad.

"I like mine, though." He makes a sharp salute.

"Of course you do," Orpheus says with a fond smile.

"Yeah, yeah," Steve says good-naturedly, taking Orpheus's hand again. "Captain America thinks American things are best. Yeah, yeah."

"It's cute," Orpheus says. "Patriotic without being jingoistic."

"Well, that's the ideal."

[golden_lyre]

"You do it well," Orpheus says, leading him into the garden.

"Thank you." He kisses Orpheus's cheek as they walk.

He stops once they're inside the garden proper, and breathes a soft, "Oh..."

"Beautiful, isn't it?" Orpheus says.

"It's gorgeous."

He smiles and says, "Of course, it's no Central Park..."

Orpheus laughs. "Keep that up and I am never bringing you to Paris again..."

Steve laughs and kisses him. "I love Paris."

"Much better," Orpheus murmurs. "Why don't you find us a nice, comfy spot, and I'll get us something to drink," he says, gesturing to a nearby vendor cart.

Steve nods and kisses him again, and then goes in search of either an empty bench or a likely-looking tree.

Orpheus goes to the vendor and buys them two bottles of lemonade before heading to find Steve.

No benches that he can find, but there are comfortable chairs arranged around the main pond. Steve has chosen two where they can see people sailing boats on the pond.

Orpheus finds him easily and hands him a bottle before setting his guitar down and taking his seat.

"Thanks," Steve murmurs and opens the bottle.

"Are you going to play again?"

[golden_lyre]

"Would you like me to?" Orpheus asks, smiling.

"Always," says Steve, leaning back in his chair.

Orpheus smirks and pulls his guitar into his lap.

"What would you like to hear?"
