Orpheus had dutifully eaten, if not as much as Steve wanted him to, at least enough to be able to say he was taking care of himself.

And after...well, upstairs had seemed like a good idea. Especially good considering this was the first time it was Orpheus who hadn't seen Steve in over a month rather than the other way around. He tugs Steve into the room with a smile, not willing to let go of him even for a second.

Steve watches him wide eyes, stroking his back.

Orpheus gradually comes to a stop, coming to rest on top of Steve.

Steve kisses his hair.

Orpheus hums softly, tucked against Steve.

Steve chuckles softly. "Comfy?"

[golden_lyre]

"Mmhm. You?" Orpheus murmurs.

"Yeah." He plays with Orpheus's hair.

[golden_lyre]

"Good," Orpheus whispers. "'Cause I don't plan on moving."

"You just stay where you are, honey," Steve murmurs. "I can take you."

"I know you can," Orpheus murmurs, kissing his shoulder.



[ooc: No worries! I had to head off to bed.]

Steve kisses his hair and holds him a little tighter with a contented sigh.

After a few moments Orpheus says quietly, "We're going to be okay, right?"

Steve strokes his hair slowly, gently scraping Orpheus's scalp with his nails.

"I think we have to really want to and I think we have to do everything we can to make it happen, but if we do, then yeah. We will be. We'll be better than okay. We'll be ... amazing."

[golden_lyre]

Orpheus hums in contentment. "You think so, huh?"

"Yup." He gently scratches the back of Orpheus's neck. "Remember who you're talking to, here. I'm a symbol of hope."

"Yeah," Orpheus says softly. "You really are."

Steve chuckles. His fingers gently brush down Orpheus's spine.

He says quietly, "Hey. Remember when I said I don't care if you sleep with other people?"

[golden_lyre]

"Yeah?" Orpheus says, pushing himself up a bit to look at Steve.

His gaze meets Orpheus's. "I think I care. In fact, I'm pretty sure I do."

[golden_lyre]

Orpheus smiles and kisses him.

"I wasn't planning on doing it anymore."

Steve's responding smile is beautiful. He wraps his arms around Orpheus and kisses him happily.

Orpheus kisses him back, laughing against his lips.

"I didn't want to ask, I really didn't, but I'm so glad you want to anyway."

[golden_lyre]

Orpheus laughs softly. "Of course. When I'm with someone seriously...that's it for me."

Steve kisses him again, still smiling. "We really are serious."
