[Milliways]: Breaking the dry spell

Orpheus is trying very hard not to just drag Steve up the stairs to their room. Despite having been waiting in the bar, he hasn't been spending much time here at all. It made him think far too much of Steve, and the drawings Steve had left for him didn't really help on that score.

He manages to restrain himself, though, as he unlocks the door.

Orpheus nods and kisses his hair. "I hope so too."

Steve sighs and hugs Orpheus closer to him.

Orpheus hums softly into his hair, a low, soothing tune.

"I think I'll stay a couple days before I head back," Steve says softly. "And it'll be a while before I'll be ready to leave for the road trip."

[golden_lyre]

Orpheus nods, stroking his fingertips along Steve's arm.

"I should probably go back to head back to Paris eventually as well."

[thekidfrombrooklyn]

"Okay.

"Will you be able to get away okay, to go with me? I figure it'll take about two weeks to cross the country, with the stops I'm hoping to make."

[golden_lyre]

"Yes, of course," Orpheus says. "I don't see why not. I won't miss any time at home."

[thekidfrombrooklyn]

"Good. Timing it will be interesting, but I'm sure we can get a lot of supplies here and the rest in my world..." He yawns. "And I'm fine with renting a car of riding on a motorcycle sounds like too much."

[golden_lyre]

"No, we should do the motorcycle. We can always rent a car later if we need to."

"A truck," Steve murmurs. "To carry the motorcycle."

[golden_lyre]

"I was going to suggest storing the motorcycle somewhere, but that works too..."

[thekidfrombrooklyn]

"We could even tag-team."

[golden_lyre]

"We could cover more ground that way, probably," Orpheus agrees.

"Make more stops that way, too," Steve says, grinning. "See more sights."

[golden_lyre]

"Mmhm," Orpheus agrees, kissing his forehead. "We could see all of America."

Steve laughs. "We should save a few things for the next trip."

[golden_lyre]

"There are other countries," Orpheus points out.

[thekidfrombrooklyn]

"True. But since I'm likely going to be around for a long time and I know you are, there's plenty of time to see it all."

[golden_lyre]

"Yes, there is," Orpheus says fondly. "In your world and mine."

Steve kisses Orpheus's lips and smiles at him.

[golden_lyre]

Orpheus returns the kiss. "Go to sleep, lovely," he murmurs. "We can make plans in the morning."

"Good night, my love," Steve whispers and lays his head on Orpheus's shoulder.

He's asleep almost at once.

Orpheus smiles at the epithet and kisses Steve's forehead. "Goodnight," he murmurs in return, humming softly to himself until he drifts off as well.
