[Milliways]: Breaking the dry spell

Orpheus is trying very hard not to just drag Steve up the stairs to their room. Despite having been waiting in the bar, he hasn't been spending much time here at all. It made him think far too much of Steve, and the drawings Steve had left for him didn't really help on that score.

He manages to restrain himself, though, as he unlocks the door.

Steve blushes and nods. "Okay..."

"We don't have to if your'e uncomfortable with it, but it would be easier than trying to explain everything to you," Orpheus offers.

"Though from the sound of it, we should do it in my world rather than yours."

"Yeah, I think so," Steve says, still blushing. "I don't think it would quite count as 'laying low.'"

"No, and probably most people don't want to know that Captain America is adventurous in the bedroom."

"I think they don't even want to think about me having sex."

...Oh, Steve. So innocent still.

Orpheus chuckles and settles his hand at Steve's hip. "I'm pretty sure a whole lot of them really like to think about you having sex."

"Why would they--oh."

Once again, blush.

[golden_lyre]

"Yeah," Orpheus says. "Oh."

"I wonder if I should let people know I have a boyfriend."

[golden_lyre]

"It won't stop them thinking."

Steve hides his face in Orpheus's chest, caught between being terribly, terribly embarrassed and laughing.

Laughing is winning.

Orpheus laughs along with him. "Get used to it, lovely."

"I used to get a lot of marriage proposals on the USO tour," Steve says. "I never thought anything of them.

"But it's the same thing, isn't it? People thinking I'd look good in their bed."

[golden_lyre]

"Yeah, something like that. I'm sure some of them just think you'd look good naked anywhere."

"You're the only one who's supposed to think that," Steve murmurs.

[golden_lyre]

"They aren't blind, my love," Orpheus says with a smile. "And I kind of like knowing so many people are thinking about you that way."

"Because you know you're the only one who gets to touch me?"

[golden_lyre]

"Exactly," Orpheus says, kissing him.

Steve grins and kisses him back.

[golden_lyre]

"Does it bother you?" Orpheus asks after he pulls back from the kiss.

[thekidfrombrooklyn]

"What, other people wanting me?" He shrugs. "I don't think so."

[golden_lyre]

"Other people thinking about you having sex."

[thekidfrombrooklyn]

"They're going to whether it bothers me or not, so I shouldn't let it bother me."

[golden_lyre]

"That's a good philosophy to have."

[thekidfrombrooklyn]

"Someone recommended the serenity prayer to me," Steve says. "I think this applies."
