[Milliways]: Movie night

Orpheus juggles the bottles and his key to get the door unlocked so Steve doesn't have to put down the pizzas, and he pulls out the little table to put the drinks on once they're inside.

"Something funny, huh?"

"I want to see it. Your world, where the fighting's stopped."

"You'll see it in your world soon enough," Orpheus murmurs.

"A world without war," Steve says, tucking his head against Orpheus's.

Orpheus shakes his head. "Just because your war is over doesn't mean there's no war at all."

"Oh, don't tell me that. Let me dream a little."

Orpheus kisses his hair. "All right, lovely."

Steve makes a kissy-mouth in response and settles his head on Orpheus's shoulder.

He's actually enjoying the movie, too.

Orpheus leans his cheek against Steve's hair and curls an arm around him.

[thekidfrombrooklyn]

"Gosh, I remember that," Steve murmurs when sound is introduced into the movie's world. "Going to a talking picture for the first time. It was like a miracle."

[golden_lyre]

Orpheus smiles. "Yeah, I remember it too," he says.



[ooc: Gah, there is this scene in Country Strong where he's in bed with this girl and talking to her, and his voice is just all...low and rumbly. That is what I think of when he's talking to Steve in bed.]

Steve smiles at Orpheus and touches his cheek.


[ooc: Mmm.]

Orpheus kisses his forehead.

Steve closes his eyes with a soft, "Mm."

[golden_lyre]

"You're going to miss the movie," Orpheus murmurs, nuzzling his hair.

"I'm listening to it."

[golden_lyre]

"You're going to miss Gene Kelly's dancing," Orpheus whispers.

[thekidfrombrooklyn]

"I'll watch again when I hear tap shoes."

He likes cuddling too much at the moment to be distracted by the promise of dancing.

Orpheus chuckles and kisses his hair.

He does watch again when there's dancing, anyway. There's a lot of dancing.

Orpheus doesn't really mind. He's paying more attention to Steve than to the movie.

Meantime, beer is drunk and pizza is eaten, and lips get kissed more than once.

When the movie ends, Orpheus sets his bottle aside and shifts to look at Steve. "What did you think?"

"I liked it!" Steve says. "The dancing was amazing, and the songs were like something from my day. And that 'Be a Clown' number!" He laughs again at the memory.

Orpheus chuckles and kisses him. "I'm glad."

Steve kisses him back, smiling.

"The pizza was good, too," he murmurs. "Good ideas tonight, sweetheart."
