Orpheus wasn't entirely sure the ring would work as a way for him to get to Steve's world, but he was going to give it a shot. If it didn't work, he'd explain it to Steve the next time they were both in the bar, and they could figure something else out.

His guitar slung across his back, Orpheus turns the ring on his finger and opens the door, pleased to find himself in Steve's apartment when he steps through.

"The theater is up here." He leads Orpheus up Broadway to the theater advertising Macbeth.

Orpheus takes his hand as they walk.

Steve swings it a little and smiles.

There's a line in front of the theater. Steve joins it at the end. "If we don't get in, we can find something else to do tonight."

Orpheus leans against him a little.

"I'm sure there's no shortage."

"It's still the city that never sleeps." He leans his head against Orpheus's. "Some restaurants sound like they're a show on their own."

"We'll find something," Orpheus agrees, smiling at how easy this feels.

Steve kisses his hair. "When I was a kid, sometimes we'd just walk around. People-watching, I guess they call it now."

"We coudl do that, if you'd like," Orpheus says, turning to look at Steve.

"Would you rather do that than see a play? I don't mind either way."

[golden_lyre]

"Neither do I, lovely. Let's see if we can get into the play, and if we can't, we can do that."

"All right by me." The line shuffles forward.

"Where would you like to go if we end up walking?"

"Hmm...Central Park? It's beautiful at sunset."

[golden_lyre]

"That sounds lovely."

"And then eat." Steve will probably be very, very hungry by then.

[golden_lyre]

"Yes. To keep your strength up."

[thekidfrombrooklyn]

"Because I have plans for you later," Steve says, his expression at its most innocent.

[golden_lyre]

"I was hoping..." Orpheus says, a smirk playing at his lips.

Steve lightly strokes Orpheus's back. "I can imagine what you're hoping."

[golden_lyre]

"I should think so by now."

[thekidfrombrooklyn]

Steve gives Orpheus a very speculative look.

He says softly, "Wanna get out of here?"

[golden_lyre]

Orpheus laughs. "Don't you need to eat first?"

[thekidfrombrooklyn]

"We could stop and get takeout." He runs his finger down the placket of Orpheus's shirt. "I know we had plans but I'd really rather just be alone with you."

[golden_lyre]

He chuckles. "Sometimes I think you would be happy if we never went anywhere at all."

"I know. It's awful. I suppose I'm a homebody at heart."
