[Milliways]: An American in Paris

Orpheus' flat in Paris is above a little boulangerie in the Latin Quarter, not too terribly far from Notre Dame. It's...very small, and that isn't helped by the musical instruments and half-finished, scribbled sheet music that are littered around the place. Everything is clean, just cluttered. It's a bit stuffy as well, though Orpheus has all his windows open.

As they step into the living room, Orpheus turns to Steve with a smile. "Bienvenue à Paris," he says.

Orpheus gives the statue a respectful nod before pulling Steve along with him up to a room with another statue in the corner.

"Also family," he says.

"Oh," says Steve softly and goes as close to it as he can. "Oh, that's beautiful." He leans close in fascination.

Orpheus goes with him, hand on the small of his back.

"Next time we'll bring your sketchbook," he says.

"Next time," Steve murmurs.

He smiles at Orpheus wryly. "I wasn't even sure we'd get out of bed this trip."

Orpheus laughs. "We can have sex in Milliways anytime, lovely."

"And we usually do."

[golden_lyre]

"So this should be different," Orpheus says.

[thekidfrombrooklyn]

"So we're not having sex again?" says Steve, all innocence.

[golden_lyre]

"Hush," Orpheus says. "Not in front of Eros."

"Yes, dear," Steve murmurs and kisses the back of Orpheus's hand.

Orpheus brushes his thumb over Steve's cheek, smiling.

Steve watches him, that tender look back in his eyes.

"Just to warn you in advance, if you bring me back here, I'll need a week just for this museum."

[golden_lyre]

"I can drop you off when it opens and pick you up at close," Orpheus offers.

"That sounds like perfect."

He holds Orpheus's hand a little tighter. "Ready for chocolate?"

"Absolutely," Orpheus says, smiling and pulling Steve down toward the exit.

"You know, you really should see the Musee D'Orsay at some point. And the Rodin museum."

"Next trip," says Steve with a laugh.

"I'm going to need so many new sketchbooks."

[golden_lyre]

"I'm pretty sure we can manage that," Orpheus says. He leads Steve out to the central entrance.

Steve beams at the sculpture. "What is this?" he asks and starts jumping over the lines of light.

[golden_lyre]

Orpheus laughs. "It's a really impressive skylight," he says. "I think it was built in...the nineties? Sometime around then."

Steve spreads out his arms and turns so the bars of light fall across him.

Orpheus smirks and whips out his phone to take a picture.

Steve opens his eyes when he heard the click. "Should I pose?"

[golden_lyre]

"No," Orpheus says. "I just wanted one like that."

"Okay." He's still smiling when he comes back to Orpheus and takes his hands.

Orpheus kisses him and puts his camera away, tilting his head in the direction of one corner of the lobby. "Come on, Galahad. Chocolate."
