[Milliways]: An American in Paris

Orpheus' flat in Paris is above a little boulangerie in the Latin Quarter, not too terribly far from Notre Dame. It's...very small, and that isn't helped by the musical instruments and half-finished, scribbled sheet music that are littered around the place. Everything is clean, just cluttered. It's a bit stuffy as well, though Orpheus has all his windows open.

As they step into the living room, Orpheus turns to Steve with a smile. "Bienvenue à Paris," he says.

Orpheus hums a bit as his fingers massage Steve's scalp.

That gets another satisfied sound from Steve.

Orpheus smiles at that, still working his fingers through Steve's hair. Eventually, he directs him to tilt his head back so he can rinse the conditioner out.

Steve tilts back his head, his eyes closed.

Orpheus carefully rinses Steve's hair and kisses his shoulder again.

Steve turns and kisses his forehead. "C'mon." He steps out of the tub.

Orpheus follows him out, grabbing a towel for each of them from the back of the door.

Steve takes a towel and turns off the water, and starts drying himself vigorously.

Orpheus towels himself off quickly as well.

"Come on, Galahad," he says, heading back to his room. "Let's get dressed and go get you a suit of armor."

Steve follows him out. "Are you anticipating a battle at the release party?"

"You never know with these people," Orpheus jokes lightly.

Steve wraps his arms around Orpheus and kisses his neck. "Am I gonna need to protect you from those awful music people?" he asks softly, smiling.

Orpheus smirks. "Once we get you spruced up, lovely? I might have to protect you."

Steve chuckles and hugs him, then lets him go to get dressed. "I think I can handle myself around your friends."

"I'm not talking about my friends. I'm talking about you having to beat them off with a stick. You're just the sort of unsullied beauty they'd love to get their claws in," Orpheus says, picking up his jeans and pulling them back on.

Steve gives him a very skeptical look.

"Innocence is sexy, lovely," Orpheus says, chuckling as he goes to find a clean shirt.

"You can't really call me innocent anymore," Steve says as he sits on the edge of the bed to tie his boots. "I've had a lot of sex, thanks to you."

[golden_lyre]

"That's not the kind of innocence they care about," Orpheus points out, tugging his shirt on and moving to find his shoes.

Steve frowns, leaning his elbows on his thighs. "Then what do you means?"

[golden_lyre]

"You're a good person, Steve. Pure-hearted."

"Oh," Steve says and gives a soft laugh. "You make me feel like I'm going to be a pilgrim in an unholy land."

[golden_lyre]

"You kind of are," Orpheus says thoughtfully.

Steve rises and goes to Orpheus. He takes Orpheus's face in his hands and kisses him soundly. "I want to show you how proud I am of you, sweetheart. It'll be fine."

"I'm not trying to scare you out of it," Orpheus says with a laugh. "I'm just letting you know how it's likely to be."
