Orpheus wasn't entirely sure the ring would work as a way for him to get to Steve's world, but he was going to give it a shot. If it didn't work, he'd explain it to Steve the next time they were both in the bar, and they could figure something else out.

His guitar slung across his back, Orpheus turns the ring on his finger and opens the door, pleased to find himself in Steve's apartment when he steps through.

"Could be. He was at Oxford, and I did catch him just after a lecture."

"I'm sure he had his mind on other things that even you couldn't charm him out of." He grins at Orpheus and starts working the bottle open.

Orpheus chuckles. "My charm wouldn't have worked on him. He was...very much in love with his wife."

Steve laughs. "I wasn't even thinking about sex."

[golden_lyre]

"Neither was I, but my charm usually at least relies on desire."

"The desire to please you?" He hands Orpheus a glass.

He smirks as he takes the glass. "That desire usually comes from something else."

"Okay, what do you think it is?"

[golden_lyre]

"Usually when people want to please me it's because they want something from me."

Steve sips, smirking. "Gee, I can't imagine what."

[golden_lyre]

He laughs. "Not always that."

[thekidfrombrooklyn]

"Then what?" He goes to Orpheus and pokes him in the side. "What, what, what, Mr. Vague?"

"Anything. A favor, money, attention."

"Ah," Steve says and goes to the microwave to get the popcorn. He turns to Orpheus and says, "What did you think I wanted from you when we met?"

He smirks. "To punch me."

"Which I got."

[golden_lyre]

"Well, I was feeling generous..."

"C'mon, let's start the movie," says Steve, nodding his head to the living room. He picks up the bowl of popcorn and his glass. "Remember the plan was to cuddle.

"So... the only reason," he says as he settles on the couch, "I hit you was because you wanted me to?"

He follows Steve out to the living room and settles onto the couch himself. "Well, yes. If I hadn't wanted you to, you wouldn't have been angry enough to."

Steve pulls Orpheus to him and kisses his neck. "True. I forget about that part."

Orpheus settles against him with a smile.

"Which is not to say I haven't ever been punched when I didn't want to be."

"Poor Orpheus," says Steve, stroking his cheek, then pushes Orpheus up a little. "I need to put in the dee vee dee before we get comfortable."

Orpheus sits up straighter and sips his wine. "You wanted cuddling," he points out.

"I will cuddle the daylights out of you in about one minute," Steve says, struggling to open the DVD case. "Maybe two minutes."

Orpheus chuckles as he watches. "Need some help, lovely?"
