Orpheus wasn't entirely sure the ring would work as a way for him to get to Steve's world, but he was going to give it a shot. If it didn't work, he'd explain it to Steve the next time they were both in the bar, and they could figure something else out.

His guitar slung across his back, Orpheus turns the ring on his finger and opens the door, pleased to find himself in Steve's apartment when he steps through.

"Haven't you tried them? They're delicious." He grabs a bag of peanut butter M&Ms, too.

"I'm not sure about this peanut butter and chocolate thing." He's still very European at heart.

"Salty and sweet together," Steve cajoles him.

[golden_lyre]

"Peanut butter," Orpheus points out. He's not sold on that whole idea either.

"Chicken," says Steve and moves on to the bags of chips.

"And chocolate?" Orpheus teases, reaching for a bag of cinnamon bears.

"Chicken and chocolate sounds kind of gross," Steve says. "Though I understand it's a spice in South American cooking. Not sure I want to taste that."

He picks up a bag of nice, ordinary potato chips.

"We should get chicken mole sometime," Orpheus says absently, picking up a box of popcorn.

"I like guacamole," Steve says. "Is it like that?"

He laughs softly. "No, not really."

"Hm," Steve says and moves to the drinks coolers. "What looks good here?"

Orpheus rests a hand on the small of Steve's back as he leans in to look. "Beer?"

"You know, since I can't get drunk any more, beer has lost its appeal. I've realized I don't really like the taste. Not American beer, anyway.

"Which I realize is a terrible thing for Captain America to say, but there it is."

"You can get non-American beer in America," Orpheus points out.

Steve eyes the rows of PBR and Coors, and says, "I think we need to go to a fancier store for that."

"A grocery store would have something," he says.

"Do you really want to make the trip? I think I have wine. Wine and popcorn is a good combination, right?"

[golden_lyre]

He laughs. "I suppose?"

"Then beer can wait.

"Is there anything else you want to grab here?"

[golden_lyre]

"I'm good if you are."

"I'm set." He carries their snacks to the cashier.

Orpheus follows him up, still idly browsing as they go.

The cashier here knows Steve too, and there's a bit of chat about the weather and their plans for the day as Steve is rung up.

Orpheus smiles, hand still resting on Steve's back, watching the interaction with pleased amusement.

"What?" says Steve as they start back to the apartment.
