Orpheus wasn't entirely sure the ring would work as a way for him to get to Steve's world, but he was going to give it a shot. If it didn't work, he'd explain it to Steve the next time they were both in the bar, and they could figure something else out.

His guitar slung across his back, Orpheus turns the ring on his finger and opens the door, pleased to find himself in Steve's apartment when he steps through.

"And when's your next scheduled snack?"

"Why? Are you worried about keeping me fed?" He forks some hash browns into his mouth. "There's food in the apartment. I'm sure you saw it."

Orpheus smirks. "I want to make sure you keep your strength up."

"Don't you worry about that," says Steve and pushes a plate to Orpheus. "Have some ham. Protein to fill you up."

Orpheus laughs. "You sure you don't need it?" he asks, cutting off a bite.

Steve points to the bacon and sausage still on the plate. "I think I'll be fine." He pours syrup over the sausage.

Orpheus shakes his head fondly. "As will I," he says, gesturing to his own bacon.

Steve grins at him again and eats a mouthful of pancakes.

"When we're done here," he says when he's swallowed, "do you want to just go back to the apartment and watch a movie?"

"Unless there's something else you'd like to do."

"Mostly I just want to cuddle," Steve admits.

"Then let's go back and watch a movie," Orpheus says with a small.

"As soon as you finish your breakfast," says Steve, his eyes soft.

Orpheus nudges Steve's foot. "You've got further to go than I do, lovely."

Beaming, Steve pops a forkful of country potatoes into his mouth.

Orpheus leans back, smiling around a mouthful of pancake.

Steve says, after a few minutes of concentrated eating, "Is there anything else you want to do while you're here, or do you want to just wing it?"

"Winging it is fine, I think," Orpheus says thoughtfully. "I just want...to see how you live here."

Steve plays with his coffee cup. "I spend a lot of time catching up and eating, if I'm not called on to be a superhero. The modern world is still a weird place sometimes."

[golden_lyre]

"Do you think you'll ever be caught up?"

[thekidfrombrooklyn]

"No," says Steve with a rueful laugh. "But I know what a venti frappuccino is. That's something, right?"

[golden_lyre]

"Not what I'd have focused on, but sure," Orpheus says, laughing as well.

"I'm learning! Slowly. I even understand some of Tony's jokes."

[golden_lyre]

"How are you handling the internet?"

[thekidfrombrooklyn]

"It's... I try to stick to certain sites, ever since I saw a picture someone made of my head on a," he drops his voice, "a porn actor's body."

Orpheus laughs out loud.

"Hmm, yes. I've seen some of those. Though I can't imagine it did you justice..."
