Orpheus wasn't entirely sure the ring would work as a way for him to get to Steve's world, but he was going to give it a shot. If it didn't work, he'd explain it to Steve the next time they were both in the bar, and they could figure something else out.

His guitar slung across his back, Orpheus turns the ring on his finger and opens the door, pleased to find himself in Steve's apartment when he steps through.

Orpheus slides out as well and takes Steve's hand.

"See you soon, now," says their waitress on their way out, and Steve says, "Absolutely," with a smile for Orpheus.

Orpheus offers her his thanks and a smile as they head out before turning his attention to Steve.

"So...movies?"

"There are a few shops where we can rent dee vee dees," Steve says, "but my apartment is set up to have some channels broadcast right to my TV."

Tone of wonder? Check.

"Anything you've been wanting to see?"

"You know," Steve begins, then says slowly, "They made a movie of one of my favorite books from when I was a kid. I tried to see it in the theater but I couldn't handle the battle scenes and had to leave. I'd still like to see it. I think it'd be easier on a smaller screen. It's called The Hobbit."

Orpheus gives him a genuine smile. "All right," he says, pleased.

"Thanks." He kisses the back of Orpheus's hand. "Do you want to get anything before we go back to the apartment?"

"You said you had food, right?"

[thekidfrombrooklyn]

"I do. I'm not sure if there's popcorn, though, or anything good to eat while watching movies. My assistant thinks I need to eat healthy." He makes a face.

Orpheus laughs. "Then let's get you some junk food, lovely."

Steve laughs. "Corner store's this way," he says, tugging Orpheus along by the hand.

Orpheus follows easily, grinning.

"Are you a chocolate person, a salty person or a sweets person?" Steve says as they enter the corner store. "I'm pretty much all three, but before I just wanted popcorn, the saltier the better."

"I am all three," Orpheus says, glancing around the store. "Should we get some popcorn and some candy?"

"Yes," Steve says and grabs a bag of M&Ms. "They make these with peanut butter inside."

[golden_lyre]

Orpheus wrinkles his nose. "So I've heard."

[thekidfrombrooklyn]

"Haven't you tried them? They're delicious." He grabs a bag of peanut butter M&Ms, too.

[golden_lyre]

"I'm not sure about this peanut butter and chocolate thing." He's still very European at heart.

[thekidfrombrooklyn]

"Salty and sweet together," Steve cajoles him.

[golden_lyre]

"Peanut butter," Orpheus points out. He's not sold on that whole idea either.

"Chicken," says Steve and moves on to the bags of chips.

[golden_lyre]

"And chocolate?" Orpheus teases, reaching for a bag of cinnamon bears.

[thekidfrombrooklyn]

"Chicken and chocolate sounds kind of gross," Steve says. "Though I understand it's a spice in South American cooking. Not sure I want to taste that."

He picks up a bag of nice, ordinary potato chips.

"We should get chicken mole sometime," Orpheus says absently, picking up a box of popcorn.
