Orpheus wasn't entirely sure the ring would work as a way for him to get to Steve's world, but he was going to give it a shot. If it didn't work, he'd explain it to Steve the next time they were both in the bar, and they could figure something else out.

His guitar slung across his back, Orpheus turns the ring on his finger and opens the door, pleased to find himself in Steve's apartment when he steps through.

Orpheus laughs out loud.

"Hmm, yes. I've seen some of those. Though I can't imagine it did you justice..."

"He was too slim to be me," Steve says, "but his," he holds his hands about ten inches apart, "was enormous."

He smirks. "You're not wanting in that department, lovely."

"Thanks," Steve murmurs, blushing, and drinks some coffee.

"It was just so weird. My head in the Captain America cowl and then this naked body."

[golden_lyre]

"It's understandable they'd want to know what's under the suit," Orpheus points out. "And since they can't, they have to imagine."

"You've seen me in the suit. It doesn't leave much to the imagination."

[golden_lyre]

"It leaves some things," Orpheus says, shifting to nudge his knee between Steve's.

Steve blushes again and tries not to smile as he looks away. "That should be left to the imagination."

[golden_lyre]

Orpheus smiles, his hand moving to Steve's knee as well. "Not just that."

Steve raises his eyebrows. "Oh?"

[golden_lyre]

"Mmhm," Orpheus murmurs. "The line of muscle on your stomach, the taste of your skin, the way your breath picks up when you're touched..."

Steve inhales with a little hitch. "Nobody gets to know that but you."

[golden_lyre]

"And I'm grateful for that, but they will still wonder and imagine."

[thekidfrombrooklyn]

"Putting my head on a strange body isn't going to tell them that."

[golden_lyre]

"No, but it will give them a picture to consider."

[thekidfrombrooklyn]

Steve shakes his head. "People are so strange."

[golden_lyre]

Orpheus laughs. "Yes, but that is hardly new."

[ooc: Bedtime.]

"One thing that never changes," Steve agrees.

He pushes his empty plate away a little.

Orpheus smiles at that and drags his last piece of ham slowly and deliberately through the syrup on his plate.

Steve watches his fork, and then looks up to meet Orpheus's gaze.

[ooc: at work until 5, possibly longer, and so will be using iPad and email. Will be slow.]

Orpheus keeps his eyes on Steve's, still smiling as he takes the last bite with considerable relish.

Steve leans his chin on his hand, enjoying the show.

He chews and swallows and laughs as he finishes. "Enjoying yourself, lovely?"

"Oh, yes, sweetheart. I am."

He reaches over and wipes a little syrup from the corner of Orpheus's mouth with a fingertip.

Grinning, Orpheus turns his face to lick Steve's finger clean.
