Orpheus wasn't entirely sure the ring would work as a way for him to get to Steve's world, but he was going to give it a shot. If it didn't work, he'd explain it to Steve the next time they were both in the bar, and they could figure something else out.

His guitar slung across his back, Orpheus turns the ring on his finger and opens the door, pleased to find himself in Steve's apartment when he steps through.

Steve smiles to himself and says quietly, "Okay. I'm kind of excited about it, really--telling people about my music man."

Orpheus laughs, rather pleased himself. "Is that what you're going to call me?"

"Are you okay with that?" Smiling more broadly.

[golden_lyre]

"Of course. It's true, isn't it?"

"It sure is." He adds, with a mischievous glint in his eye, "Can I say you wear my ring?"

He considers a moment and nods. "Yes. You can."

Steve smiles so widely that he has to hide it behind his hand.

Thank goodness the waitress comes then. "What'll it be, boys?"

"Just the usual, Rosie," Steve tells her, still beaming at Orpheus.

[golden_lyre]

Orpheus is too busy smiling back to look up at the waitress. "And I'll have the blueberry pancakes, thanks."

"One blueberry pancakes," says the waitress, writing, "and one lumberjack breakfast." She scurries off.

"We're kind of obvious, aren't we?" Steve says.

[golden_lyre]

"Should we not be?"

[thekidfrombrooklyn]

"I am perfectly okay with being obvious. I love being obvious with you."

[golden_lyre]

"Good. That's fine, then."

[thekidfrombrooklyn]

Steve leans across the table with a soft, "Kiss me, honey."

[golden_lyre]

Orpheus meets him halfway with a smile, giving him an easy kiss.


[ooc: Heading out for dinner with the fam.]

Steve is beaming again as he sits back down.

"Now they're going to wonder who my young man is."

[ooc: Kaykay.]

"You come here quite often, then?" Orpheus asks with a smile, nudging Steve's foot with his under the table.

"Yeah," says Steve, nudging him back. "Couple times a week. They feed me right and don't give me funny looks for it."

[golden_lyre]

"For your healthy appetite?"

[thekidfrombrooklyn]

"Exactly.

"And it's nice to have places to come back to, you know? Something steady when the world gets so weird. There wasn't much damage in this part of the city from Loki's army--you can almost pretend it didn't happen."

[golden_lyre]

Orpheus tilts his head. "What does the rest of it look like?"

"Like it got attacked by an army of giant aliens," Steve says, which probably doesn't help much. "It's getting better, but for a while there was nothing but debris and broken glass for blocks."

[golden_lyre]

Orpheus has a remarkable imagination...

"Who did the cleanup?"

[thekidfrombrooklyn]

"Public services, with a lot of cash from a couple different Stark foundations."

He pauses to smile when their waitress comes back with their breakfasts. Steve's is, indeed, enough to feed a lumberjack or two.

Orpheus smiles his thanks at her as well, turning an amused look on Steve. "Are you sure that's going to be enough?"

"For breakfast, yeah." He grins as he takes off the paper cuff from the little bundle of silverware.
